BEIJING, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- China on Thursday denounced the U.S. suppression and containment of Chinese high-tech firms by abusing state power.
Given profound changes in the world, it is a shared responsibility for all countries to maintain peace and promote development. Developing China-U.S. relations based on coordination, cooperation and stability is vital to the world.

"When we say mutual respect, this includes the respect of our culture and history. As developing countries, both China and Fiji share a lot in terms of long history, very old culture and seeking common development. WASHINGTON, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- The differences between the United States and China "should be seen as opportunities, possibilities for mutual learning, for cooperation," Chinese Ambassador to the United States Cui Tiankai has said.

Noting that the United States conducts wire-tapping and mass surveillance around the globe, and that these wrongful acts are already an open secret, Wang said the United States is not qualified to build a coalition of "clean countries" because it is dirty all over.
"In the meantime, we should really work together to maintain stability of the region, and all of these sea lanes are extremely important for the Chinese economy. A large portion of our imports and exports have to go through these sea lanes," he said. "So we really have high stakes in the safety and security of navigation. So if these things are left to the countries concerned to work out, the situation would be much better."
He said that China and the United States should avoid strategic miscalculation and manage well their differences. "China is always open to dialogue and communication with the United States. The two sides should enhance cooperation through communication, and properly address differences through dialogue."
In sharp contrast to the United States' approach, more than 70 countries expressed their support for the legislation at a meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council, representing the shared voice of the international community.
