BEIJING, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Foreign ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian on Wednesday said China firmly opposed any official interactions between the United States and Taiwan under any pretext.
"China's door to dialogue remains open. We are willing, in the spirit of equality and open-mindedness, to talk and interact with the United States, and resume dialogue mechanisms at all levels and in all fields," said Wang.

LONDON, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- The extent to which the U.S. tech sector has become dependent on China is "under-appreciated", said an opinion article recently published by the London-based Financial Times newspaper.
The repeated use of national security by the United States to cover its "modern piracy" not only diminishes its credibility in the eyes of other countries, including its allies, but also hampers its own interests.
