PARIS, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- China's Zhang Shuai ended an inspirational run of French teenager Clara Burel 7-6 (2), 7-5 on Saturday to secure her career debut in the French Open round of 16.
Jiangsu's 8-0 run to start the game forced Tianjin into an early timeout. Tianjin lost too many defensive rebounds to provide their opponents with second chance baskets, digging a 29-7 hole for themselves after the first quarter.

BOGOTA, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Colombia manager Carlos Queiroz has called up uncapped America de Cali goalkeeper Eder Chaux for the team's opening 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Chile.
Peru will be without several key players for their opening fixtures against Paraguay and Brazil. The biggest absence will be that of their captain and record scorer Paolo Guerrero, who has been ruled out for the rest of 2020 because of a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
Early indications are that Carvajal could be out of action for up to two months, which means as well as the forthcoming internationals, he will also have to sit out this weekend's La Liga trip to play Levante, and league matches against Cadiz, Huesca, Valencia and Villarreal.
"It's because I did a lot of things well. I played more aggressively than the previous days. I went to the net more often, and I hit a lot of winners," added the 12-time French Open champion, who needed only one hour and 35 minutes to see off his opponent.
Fueled by Wei's six points in a row, Inner Mongolia widened the gap back to seven points, and they used a 22-13 second quarter to build a 13-point advantage at halftime.

Stefanos Tsitsipas made history for his country on Monday as the No.5 seed became the first Greek player in history to reach French Open last eight, after seeing off Grigor Dimitrov 6-3, 7-6 (9), 6-2 in a 2:26 victory.
"The tiebreak was very tense. The tiebreak was where all the money was," said Tsitsipas on court. "I am glad that I played good tennis and I didn't panic. I stayed concentrated, stayed low-key and tried to take it point by point."
